Welcome to Canossa School

The Canossian Daughters of Charity is Religious Institute founded by St. Magdalene of Canossa in 1808 at Verona, Italy. Saint Magdalene of Canossa was born in 1774 in an aristocratic family of Verona. She grew up at a time when corruption, abuse and social injustice were rampant in Italy and other parts of Europe. The situation was worsened by the Napoleonic Wars and the invasion of foreign powers in Italy. Inspired by her love of God and deeply empathetic towards the suffering of the poor, Magdalene gave up the luxury and security of her palace, to establish institutions for the needy, the sick and suffering. The institute of the Canossian Daughters of Charity is Present in thirty-three countries throughout the world. Our Sisters first came to India in 1889. Today we have 75 branches in India, dedicated to education, medical services and social uplift of the poorer sections of society. The education of the girl-child and the empowerment of women are our special concerns.

I am happy and proud to introduce the philosophy of our School. For those of you who are not familiar with the school, Canossa School is a Catholic missionary school run by the Canossian Daughters of Charity. Our Foundress St. Magdalene of Canossa began the first Charity school in 1808, at Verona, Italy. Thus we have a glorious history of over two centuries. Head Girl

"Leadership means having the self confidence to believe you can make a difference, the passion to believe it matters ,and the courage to risk it all because you believe it matters".There is no limitation to what we can achieve.Being the head girl isn't about being better than anyone else, but its about winning the trust of the students and teachers and to organize and represent them with honesty and enthusiasm .This school has guided me to be mature and has taught me to be better than the yesterday version of myself. The amount of affection I have for this institute and the people is beyond words. The honor and responsibility that I have received has been something of a great importance.I remember looking up to all the past leaders before me who have done so much for the school and I look forward to do the same. Now I believe that leadership isn't about position but about action.Along with my team of council members I am looking forward to have a whole year full of positively.Let's tak...
