Welcome to Canossa School

The Canossian Daughters of Charity is Religious Institute founded by St. Magdalene of Canossa in 1808 at Verona, Italy. Saint Magdalene of Canossa was born in 1774 in an aristocratic family of Verona. She grew up at a time when corruption, abuse and social injustice were rampant in Italy and other parts of Europe. The situation was worsened by the Napoleonic Wars and the invasion of foreign powers in Italy. Inspired by her love of God and deeply empathetic towards the suffering of the poor, Magdalene gave up the luxury and security of her palace, to establish institutions for the needy, the sick and suffering. The institute of the Canossian Daughters of Charity is Present in thirty-three countries throughout the world. Our Sisters first came to India in 1889. Today we have 75 branches in India, dedicated to education, medical services and social uplift of the poorer sections of society. The education of the girl-child and the empowerment of women are our special concerns.

Welcome to you for a virtual visit to our school. We hope that you will enjoy browsing around our website and find it interesting and informative. I am happy and proud to introduce the philosophy of our School. For those of you who are not familiar with the school, Canossa School is a Catholic missionary school run by the Canossian Daughters of Charity. Our Foundress St. Magdalene of Canossa began the first Charity school in 1808, at Verona, Italy. Thus we have a glorious history of over two centuries. Today, the Canossian presence is recognizable in 32 counties of 5 continents. We want to provide our students with the best possible start in life and guide and support them to reach their complete potential.

Head Girl

The day I entered Canossa School, I was welcomed with open arms. It provided me a way of nurturing myself and helped me grow day by day. This school has encouraged to build up my confidence and made me a better person. To be appointed as the Head Girl of this school is a matter of great honour. I see this as an opportunity to inculcate values and discipline in myself and also in the lives of other students, thus be a good example to all our companions. Leadership indeed comes with a lot of responsibilities. A good leader is one who creates an atmosphere where everyone can put forward his/her ideas and express oneself the way he/she wants. Through this special position, I will do the best I can to make a difference in collaboration with the other cabinet members. I would like t o tell all the students of Canossa, strive hard and take our school to immense success. Let?s walk in the steps, of St. Magdalene and instill in ourselves her values. Let?s work unitedly to keep t...
